The village of Calvia with its quaint country houses, fincas and villas of the wealthy municipality of Calvià accommodates the administrative center of the district. The geographical location, just south of a mountain ridge gives this region milder winter temperatures and significantly more hours of sunshine and therefore Calvià has become a sought-after area for buying building plots in Calvia. The capital of the Balearic Islands, Palma de Mallorca can be easily reached by motorway in about 15 minutes. In less than 10 minutes you can reach the beaches of Puerto Portals and Palma Nova.
