San Agustin is a village on the outskirts of the island's capital Palma de Mallorca, just a few km away from the historic centre of Palma. Here, you will find mainly large apartment complexes that are used as primary residences. The location directly at the bay of Palma, the marina and the short distances to the centre of Palma have attracted more and more northern Europeans in recent years. For example, former hotels have already been converted into luxury apartments and older apartments with good views are being renovated. In San Agustin as well as in the adjacent Cala Major you can find a variety of bars, restaurants and boutiques. The closest beaches are in Cala Major and Illetas. The airport is about 10 minutes away.
Palma de Mallorca
The San Agustin region is part of the municipality of Palma de Mallorca. Palma is about 7 km away - well worth seeing here is the old town - Casco Antiguo - the nightlife district Santa Catalina and the Paseo Maritimo with its harbour. Around Palma you will find different suburbs, like the former fishing village Portixol, which has become one of the most popular meeting places of Palma and is only 2 km away from the centre of Palma. Highlight here is the large waterfront promenade with different restaurants and bars. On the other side of Palma there is Genova, located directly at the mountain range Na Burguesa, with more of a village character, but also quite popular with residents. Also worth a visit is the seaside resort Cala Mayor with the Marivent Palace, the summer residence for the royal family and right next to it San Agustin.
