Five Must-see Coves and Beaches in Mallorca

Mallorca is synonymous with sea and sand. More than three hundred beaches and coves are spread along the coastline of an island rich in natural paradises, with an enviable gastronomy and a capital full of impressive monuments. Some of the most outstanding beaches and coves are:

Cala Llombards

In Santanyí, in the south of the island, you will find a beautiful cove of white sand, very quiet and familiar. This cove is an essential stop for those who want to enjoy the sun between cliffs and some fishermen's houses. Very close to the beach is one of the most emblematic natural monuments of the area: es Pontàs. A formidable natural arch of rock eroded by the waves that looks like a bridge in the sea.

Access by road is easy. There is a well-signposted, large and free car park.

Cala s'Almunia

A few kilometres from Santanyí, this cove has old buildings that make it an exceptional place, as it is surrounded by old fishermen's houses and its smooth areas are used by bathers as a solarium. To access the sea, the ramps used by fishermen to slide their boats are used.

Reaching the cove by road is no problem. However, there is a 200-metre walk from the car park to the beach.

Playa de Es Trenc

Es Trenc is an unspoilt sandy beach of 2,640 metres located in the municipality of Campos. The famous virgin beach, formed by dunes, in a natural and wild environment, is far away from hotels and towns. Nevertheless, it is very well equipped with beach bars, toilets and showers, lifeguard service, etc. The neighbouring beach, Ses Covetes, boasts of being the nudist beach in the area.

Access by car is very easy. Parking costs five euros per day.

Cala Falcó

In the southwest of the island, between Magaluf and Sol de Mallorca, lies a beautiful secret cove that resembles an oasis. Between rocky cliffs and a pine forest, you can enjoy plenty of peace and quiet, ideal for couples and families. It is equipped with a beach bar, sun loungers and parasols.

Access by road is very easy. However, to get to the bay, you have to go down some steep stairs.

Cala Fornells

In the south of the island, in Paguera, you will find a paradise surrounded by hotels and restaurants. It has a beautiful coastal promenade that allows you to visit neighbouring beaches such as Caló de ses Llises and Caló d'es Monjo. You can access the crystal clear waters via an artificial sun terrace. The beach has no services, but there is a bar on the beach.

The parking is free and is located very close to the cove.
