Detailed Information
Location
San Lorenzo is located in the east of Mallorca, not far from Manacor, and combines quiet, rural living with Mediterranean charm. The surrounding area offers plenty of privacy and nature, while the beaches of the east coast and the island's infrastructure are within easy reach. The location is particularly popular with residents and lovers of exclusive fincas and retreats.
Manacor in the east of Mallorca
Manacor is the namesake town of the municipality of the same name in the eastern part of Mallorca. The municipality is one of the five historical sub-regions that make up the Levante Mallorquín region and includes the population centers of Manacor, Porto Cristo, S'Illot-Cala Morlanda, Calas de Mallorca, Son Macià, Cala Anguila, Cala Mandía, Cala Murada, Cala Romántica, Son Talent, Son Mas and Sa Marineta. In 2019, Manacor was the third most populous municipality on the island and the second largest in terms of surface area. 20% of the municipality's surface is still forested. The town of Manacor was once founded by the Moors. In this rural municipality there are several archaeological sites such as the Dolmen de Son Vaquer or natural and artificial caves that served as burial sites, such as Es Picots Negres des Fangar. Today, Manacor is one of the "industrial" centers of Mallorca, with furniture manufacturing and pearl factories standing out in particular. However, pottery and the production of liqueurs and wines are also still important. The municipality is also known for its caves, such as the Coves del Drac near Porto Cristo, and the numerous beaches and bays along the coast.
