Artà in the northeast of Mallorca
The municipality of Artà is located in the northeast of the island and borders at S'Estanyol to the bay of Alcudia. Next to the main town of Artà, the small harbor village of Colonia Sant Pere is already the second largest village in the municipality with just under 500 inhabitants. A large part of the municipality of Artà belongs to the nature reserve Parque Natural de la Peninsula de Llevant. The region is one of the few areas on Mallorca that still has larger, natural sandy beaches, such as at Colonia de Sant Pere. Approximately 7,000 inhabitants live in the municipality today.
