The historic town of Pollensa is located in the north of the island, at the eastern end of the Tramuntana and is home to the famous staircase that leads up 365 steps to the Calvari mountain.
The monastery complex of Sant Domingo is another historical attraction. Many hiking trails, roads and country lanes around Pollensa attract many nature lovers for hiking, walking and cycling, even in the cooler months. Surrounded by numerous beaches and coves, the area is a particularly attractive holiday destination. There is an 18-hole golf course on the outskirts of Pollensa. Not far away is Port de Pollensa, an old fishing village with preserved flair, an international marina and beautiful sandy beaches with crystal-clear water.
Pollença is located in the north in the interior of Mallorca and approx. 45 minutes by car from Palma. The municipality of Pollença also includes Cala San Vicenc, Les Palmeres, Port de Pollença, La Font and Ca'n Singala. The famous Cap Formentor is the northernmost tip of the municipality and also that of Mallorca and is probably one of the most popular excursion destinations on the island. The views from there are truly spectacular. On the opposite side, southeast of the large bay of Pollenca, lies the Cap des Pinnar with mountain peaks that should not be underestimated, such as the Talaia de Alcudia. The port of Pollença, Port de Pollença, is only a few kilometers from the town of the same name and can also be reached by bus or bicycle. Port de Pollença was of course once a fishing village, but as in most cases, this source of income has almost dried up and tourism has taken over, so Port de Pollença has many visitors who like to come back year after year, whether to enjoy the beautiful beaches or to indulge in other leisure activities. At the port you will not only find a beautiful promenade with a cycle path, but also a variety of cafés, bars and restaurants. But you can also find what you are looking for in the enchanted alleyways. Apart from restaurants, there are of course also boutiques, souvenir and specialty stores.
